FIELD GUIDE RECOMMENDATIONS

For assistance in species identification, nothing beats a good field guide!  Here are a few of my favorites:

General Fauna
Illustrated Guide to Common Animals of the East Bay Hills. Illustrated by Dana Gardner. Waterproof, tear proof
folding sheet, produced by the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden, Spring 2011. Remarkably good pictures of
most of the bird, butterfly, reptile, amphibian, and mammal species we are likely to see in Claremont
Canyon. Purchase from Botanical Garden shop.
